On Friday (April 4), Microsoft announced upcoming updates to its artificial intelligence (AI) tools, including Copilot and Azure AI Foundry, set to roll out in the coming months.
These enhancements are part of the company’s 50th-anniversary celebrations and aim to offer users a more personalized experience through simple, intuitive commands — such as booking event tickets, making dinner reservations, and identifying security vulnerabilities in businesses.
Copilot, Microsoft’s AI assistant integrated into tools like Windows, Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and other services, will receive improvements to its memory and personalization capabilities — including options to customize its appearance.
Chat commands will also become more advanced, allowing Copilot to act on behalf of users — for example, to shop online or make reservations. Additionally, AI-powered search is being upgraded to enable deeper, more comprehensive internet searches.
Azure AI Foundry, Microsoft’s platform for building, training, fine-tuning, deploying, and managing AI models, will gain a new agent designed to detect security vulnerabilities and support the development of more reliable systems.
